I’m a bit early but Valentine’s day is coming up next week. I know we all associate Valentine’s day with boxes of chocolate and numerous kinds of heart shaped candy, but that doesn’t mean that it has to be a free for all day of sugar. I’m not saying you should restrict from all things sweet but here Here are some ideas for healthier Valentine’s Day treats that will make you feel great instead of overloaded on sugar. Some ideas are courtesy of Pinterest! Valentine’s day is after all a day all about love, so why not love your body a bit more with a healthy fix for your sweet tooth?!
These are simple. Cut a triangle out of the top of your strawberry and you have a heart!
Stuff a dark chocolate chip inside a raspberry.
Cut the top off of your strawberries and core out the inside of the strawberry. Replace the inside with melted dark chocolate.
Recipe can be found here.
This recipe is super simple. To start make heart shaped strawberries and use a heart shaped cookie cutter to make fruit hearts (I used apple slices, but any kind of melon, or pineapple would work well too.
To make your dip use either light tru whip (gluten free) or canned coconut milk refrigerated for 24 hours (Paleo). Stir in cocoa powder to make chocolate dip or make strawberry dip by mixing in pureed fresh strawberries. Easy!
Hope you enjoyed! What are you most looking forward to this Valentine’s Day?

Love these!! How cute and so delish! Valentine’s Day is not very popular here in Switzerland so I think it will be a typical Thursday for me…..
It’s definitely become a very Americanized holiday! My single self won’t be doing much for it either
Wow! Those are so easy (as I’m not very good at cooking)!
So I’m definitely making Raspberry Chocolate Chips! And not only for Valentine’s day!

Totally agree! Perfect sweet treat!
I have totally done the chocolate stuffed berries! It’s so simple, and yet delicious. Plus, for those of us that aren’t the best bakers . . . . this a great dessert that’s easy to have on hand.
It really is so easy and takes zero time at all to do!

I love TruWhip. I’m going to have fun teaching on V-day, I have a lot of extremely girly students. Haha. I especially laughed when two sisters both told me their dad didn’t like valentine’s day.
Oh how fun for you! I used to love teaching my dance students on holidays. They were always so excited for them!
I LOVE your new layout. It’s gorgeous!!! I love stuffing dark chocolate chips in raspberries..you totally got me wanting to do one right now. Stay safe in the blizzard. I hope our power doesn’t go out!

Love these ideas! Thanks Danielle! I’ve always thought of chocolate covered strawberries with Valentine’s, but I love the idea of stuffing chocolate chips into raspberries. When it comes down to it, you can never go wrong with fruit, chocolate, and whipped cream.
You really can’t!

Love all of your ideas! I’ve tried your pink paleo pancakes before and they are fabulous. I’ve never seen the truwhip. Did you find that at Whole Foods?
Yep! I found the truwhip at whole foods but I’ve seen it pretty much everywhere now!
So many great ideas!! People are going to think I’m crazy, but I do not like strawberries (unless frozen in a smoothie).. not even dipped in chocolate.
No way! We all have different tastes I guess
Chocolate + fruit = heaven. Love the dip ideas too. Yummmm.
Thanks Anna!
These are ADORABLE ideas, Danielle! I actually made the chocolate chip raspberries last year, and loved them! I’d like to try the heart-shaped strawberries this year (possibly half dipped in dark chocolate?) , and make the TruWhip dips to go alongside. Yum. <3
I'm looking forward to spending Valentine's Day with my girlfriends this year…We're attending a wine and cheese tasting at Whole Foods!

Great reminder we don’t have over indulge in high sugar, high fructose corn syrup sweets. These are all very sweet to taste and heart healthy! Such an inspirational blog.
